Anthony Mackie will move his West End production of Macbeth to Broadway, coming back to live theatre after a long absence. He will play the title role, with the run expected to continue until July 2027.
The production originated in London's West End before the Broadway transfer was confirmed by entertainment outlets. The move represents a big shift for a performer better known recently for his screen work.
After his Broadway engagement ends, Mackie has confirmed he will film Avengers: Secret Wars, placing the superhero film in after his stage work is complete.
