Dario Amodei, the chief executive of Anthropic, is backing efforts for a slowdown in AI development. A former Anthropic researcher told the BBC that AI staff are deeply worried over the fate of humanity. OpenAI's boss and Elon Musk are supporting putting brakes on what they call reckless AI development. US President Trump takes a different line. He says whoever wins AI wins, and downplays risks as things that won't happen.
