Hurricane Lowell slammed into Hawaii's western islands on Saturday, Sept. 12. The storm caused damage on Kauai. Officials there urged visitors to avoid the island until the island has recovered. The governor of Hawaii asked President Trump for federal aid. The Hawaii National Guard members assisted with meal distributions in Kauai communities after the storm's damage.
