Marines from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and sailors serving aboard the USS Tripoli came back to the U.S. on Wednesday. They concluded tours assigned to the 5th and 7th Fleets. In parallel, a large number of Marines and sailors stationed in Okinawa arrived back in Japan after missions related to the Iran situation. The Tripoli pulled in at its home port in Okinawa, closing out its deployment. The U.S. Marines and the Royal Australian Air Force completed joint drills at Dyess under the Trident Fury program this week. In Vancouver, the police marine unit recovered a week-old seal pup that was left on its own.
