The NFL is phasing out the annual Pro Bowl contest after 75 years. The league is scrapping the on-field contest, but top athletes will still be honored. Players will continue to be named as Pro Bowlers to receive their annual honors.
Player honors will remain intact despite the elimination of the match. However, alternates will no longer be selected by the league. The decision brings an end to the 75 year history of the annual game, but leading stars will continue getting their official Pro Bowl honors each year.
