US Supreme Court Refuses Roy Moore Defamation Case Appeal

The US Supreme Court has declined to take up Roy Moore's appeal to reinstate an $8.2 million defamation verdict in his favour. The court rejected the bid on 5 October 2026, closing off Moore's effort to reinstate the jury's original ruling.

The dispute involves a campaign advertisement. Moore had argued the verdict should stand in his favour, but the Supreme Court's refusal to take up the case leaves the earlier ruling in place against him.
