More than half of members in the Australian Education Union’s Victoria branch voted against the state government’s latest pay offer, prompting educators in public schools to walk out.

The AEU declared a labor pullout when the vote revealed 51 percent rejected the revised offer.

The strike has been confirmed and planned to go ahead with no new negotiations scheduled for now.

Students in state schools are likely to experience interruptions as educators leave their posts.
