Ed Harris complained initially about his limited part in the series in Dutton Ranch, the Yellowstone spin-off. He thought the role was meaningless and wanted to leave. Harris told Variety, 'with frustration Get me the f- out of here' as he walked away. He later chose to return for Season 2 to rejoin for the sequel. The show’s boss adjusted the story and gave his character additional depth. That change made Harris decide to stay. Deadline now says he will return to the character.
