Ed Husic, the Australian Industry and Science Minister, lamented Labour’s internal culture after his initiative to open a debate on recognising Gaza was rejected.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said described his remark at a meeting as incompetent.
Husic responded by saying he was unfazed by criticism, declaring reporters: "put me in a cold chamber, I don't care at all."
The dispute followed previous efforts to push the party to officially acknowledge events in Gaza as genocide.
Leaked files and internal files were later filed that revealed serious rifts within Labour’s ranks over strategy and leadership.
